How it works

How a notarisation runs on notarity

  1. Choose the service, the jurisdiction and a time slot.

  2. Required. Your documents and appointment history live here.

  3. Verification method depends on the country you are booking for. You need a valid passport or EU ID card.

  4. In a video appointment, the partner notary verifies your identity and guides you through signing.

  5. Documents are available in your notarity account shortly after the appointment. Paper copies with wet ink signature, stamp and seal can be couriered to any address as an optional add on.

  6. Book a notary appointment and put these steps into motion.

  • Hosted in the EU

The platform is hosted in EU data centres on ISO 27001 certified infrastructure, encrypted in transit with TLS and at rest with AES-256. Subcontractors outside the EU process data only under the GDPR's rules for international data transfers.

  • Every access is controlled and logged

Access is role based and limited to what each task requires, protected with multi factor authentication. Every access to personal data is logged, so it can be traced at any time.

  • GDPR by design

Processing follows the GDPR, including its rules for data transfers outside the EU, and a documented incident response plan sets out how data breaches are notified.

  • ID verification and electronic signatures in compliance with eIDAS

Identity verification and electronic signatures follow the eIDAS regulation, the EU framework for electronic identification and trust services.

What our customers say

Frequently asked questions

All questions

How does an online notary appointment with notarity work?

You book a slot, upload your documents, and meet a partner notary in a video appointment where they verify your identity and notarise your signature. The notarised document is then available in your notarity account. Most services require a video appointment, though not all do.

Is online notarisation legally valid?

Yes, in the jurisdictions where our partner notaries are licensed to perform it. Whether a specific document can be notarised online depends on the document type and the country it is intended for.

How long does it take?

The appointment itself usually takes a few minutes. Notarised documents, including the apostille where one is needed, are available in your account shortly afterwards.

How do I get my documents afterwards?

You download them from your notarity account. They are signed electronically, in compliance with eIDAS. Documents are not sent by email. If you need a physical copy with a wet ink signature, stamp and seal, it can be couriered to any address worldwide as an add on.

What can partner notaries notarise?

Powers of attorney, corporate documents, affidavits, signature notarisations, certified copies of IDs and passports, and company formation documents in supported jurisdictions. Full list on the services page.
